Proven Conservative Doug McKillip Announces Campaign for State Senate District 46

(Athens, GA) Today, former State Representative, successful businessman, and proven conservative fighter Doug McKillip announced that he will run for State Senate District 46. The Republican Primary will take place in May of 2026.

McKillip will launch the campaign with $400,000 cash on hand.

McKillip is best known for taking on Stacey Abrams and sacrificing his House Seat to secure passage of Georgia’s historic pro-life law that banned late-term abortions.

“I’m driven by my faith, not political power. When Democrats threatened my family and my political career, I didn’t back down. They may have taken my seat, but I won for life, delivered conservative results and have no regrets because our values are worth fighting for,” stated McKillip.

If elected, McKillip promises to deliver big wins for the MAGA and Georgia First agenda of President Trump and Governor Kemp. McKillip continued,

“President Trump and Governor Kemp have proven that when we take on the radical Left with bold, unapologetic leadership, conservatives win. That’s precisely what I did in the State House and what I will do in the State Senate.

I am running to again bring proven, principled and unapologetic conservative leadership to the State Capitol. I’ve proven that I’ll work tirelessly for this community to take on the radical left AND weak Republicans that threaten our values. I’m ready to put our conservative values into action - without excuses - to get things done. I will fight to eliminate the income tax, keep more money in our families’ pockets, block the Left’s woke ideology from our schools, keep our families safe, and protect life and our Constitutional rights.

More About Doug McKillip

A tested public servant and proven conservative, Doug McKillip previously served three terms in the Georgia State House. While in the House, McKillip stood on principle and always fought for what was right regardless of the consequences. He supported efforts to cut $4 billion from the state budget, grow our economy, crack down on illegal immigration, and wrote and passed the law that ended barbaric partial birth abortions in Georgia.

McKillip is a native of Senate District 46. He graduated from the University of Georgia, and earned his Juris Doctor from UGA Law.

An attorney and successful small business owner, Doug McKillip lives in Oconee County with his wife, Mary. They have 3 sons, Jackson, William and John Maxwell, and to not be left out, their loyal German Shepherd, Echo.
